34 Weeks

How far along? 34 weeks
Jeff's office cruise on the Potomac River

Babycenter says the baby is the size of a cantaloupe.  I say watermelon.
Total weight gain/loss: +3 lbs from 2 weeks ago.  Up 26 lbs so far.  I guess Ervy Dos and I hit another growth spurt.  Most babies at 34 weeks weigh about 5 lbs.

Maternity Clothes? Anything that will keep me cool in the August heat.  It has actually been in the 80's this past week, but it still seems hot.  There is only so much you can do to regulate your body temperature when you are 9 months prego!

Stretch Marks? No.  In all honesty it's a miracle from God.  It's amazing how much human skin can stretch.

Sleep/Pregnancy Symptoms? Waking up to pee about every 1.5 to 2 hours.  I try to time it so that I don't wake up around 5am, because then it is hard to go back to sleep.   Also the "Lightening Crotch" has started.  This is a quick sharp pain the will bring you to your knees.  The littlest Ervick likes to punch my bladder.   On a positive note I love all of the nice looks and compliments I have been getting from strangers.  People love to ask questions about the baby and when I am due.  It makes my work day much more enjoyable.

Best moment this week:
My Sprinkle!  It was so awesome to celebrate our newest addition with friends and family.

Food Cravings:  My food intake has increased.  Up until the past few weeks I wasn't eating much more then I normally would, but that has changed.  I don't eat a lot at one time, but I snack a lot.  If I don't eat a snack right before bed I will wake up in the middle of the night hungry.  Also I have to eat a granola bar or some small snack right when I wake up.

Gender: Our nameless boy.  Dr Tudder said he is looking good.  He is still predicting a 7.5 lb boy.  I looked up old blog posts and he also predicted a 7.5 lb boy at 34 weeks for Austin.  We all know how that turned out ha.  I am just going to prepare for a big baby and maybe I will be surprised.

What I am looking forward to:
I am looking forward to celebrating Austin's second birthday in a week and a half.

What big brother is up to:
A little over a month left of being an only child.  He talks about the baby in my belly and the baby room, but  I don't think he really gets it.  He is around some babies and he is sweet with them so that gives me hope.  The two of us are trying to keep busy and do a lot of fun stuff on my days off.
We love the farm animals.
He loves to clean just like his mama.  Mopping and vacuuming can entertain him for an hour.

He loves to explore.  Rocks, sticks, leaves, and flowers.

  2. Kim, our pregnancies sound so similar! I, too, have to snack a little to get me through the day. I cant eat large meals or I am in serious pain! Granola bars & bananas are my go to's!

You look beautiful and I hope you & Austin enjoy your last few weeks together. That is exactly what I'm soaking up right now as well.
