My attempt at wood working actually worked! For weeks I searched the internet for a toy box that was big and sturdy enough for my little man. Everything was small or got bad reviews because they fell apart easily. This will not work for a destructive boy. So I decided to have one made. I found a store nearby that creates all different types of wood furniture. They leave the furniture bare and then you can pay them to stain it or you can buy it as is. I bought the box bare and decided to stain it myself to match the rest of our furniture and also to save $100. Mind you I have never stained anything before and I am not the most crafty person, but I wanted to do this for Austin. I started by sanding down the piece and then painting the stain and wiping it down in layers. After it dried I applied and poly urethane coat and then Jeff installed the handles. Its perfect for all of the little guys toys! I hope this piece will stay in our family for a very long time.
