She's Crafty!

I continue to surprise myself with my crafty skills that have been hiding for the past 30 years.  When we moved in the house I knew that I wanted to do something with the fireplace in our living room but I wasn't sure what.  We could either paint it or whitewash it.  We decided to whitewash it so I started doing research online.  A lot of websites said that I need to mix lime and salt but  frankly it just sounded like too much work and way too complicated for a novice.  So I decided to just water down some trim paint that we already had and see how it went.  As you can see it worked!  We are thrilled with the way it came out.  It has just the rustic effect that we were looking for.  Now on to my next project.  It is beginning to feel like the projects never end when you move into a new house.
