35/35

It's a big milestone in my pregnancy. 35 weeks down and 35 days to go! I am so thankful that I have made it this far. With 5 weeks left to go I feel like I have some serious organizing to do. Maybe it is my nesting instincts kicking in or maybe it's my normal nuerotic cleaning tendancies. Jeff and I went to Babies R Us last week and bought the last few things that we needed after the showers. It was Jeff's first time at Babies R Us and I think his favorite aisle was the toy section. He picked up a few toys for Austin from daddy. We have a ton of clothes now, so I am in the process of washing them and putting them away. I can't wait to dress Austin up in his outfits! From what I hear he will go through several changes per day. I am ok with that ;) So anyways right now everything we bought, plus the shower goodies, plus the washed clothes are sitting in the middle of the nursery in piles and it's time to get down to business. I am hoping Austin has realized that I need things in order before he comes so he will need to wait a few more weeks.
Jeff and I were able to check one big thing off the list this weekend and we completed our birthing classes. I had read a lot of the stuff in my books but it was a good refresher and also it was great for Jeff to hear everything. The class was taught by one of the nurses at RHC so it was helpful to hear how things go at the hospital where I will deliver. We got a tour of the maternity ward and it was really nice! All of the rooms are individual and have been recently re-done so it has a newer feel to the place. The whole thought of delivering a baby still intimidates me, but I am hoping to grow some you know what in the next few weeks haha. I am usually very competitive and somewhat brave so I am just waiting for that side of me to come out. In the meantime I am just going to enjoy my time relaxing and preparing for the little man.

  2. Hey Mama!
I never actually got to deliver since I had to have a c-section, but my plan was this:
Derek was my coach and was going to "coach" me and keep me focused.
A good friend said that a football game was on while she was in labor, so she pushed while the ball was in play and tried to have her baby out by the time the team scored. And get this... she did! So just get that athlete's brain working during labor! You can do it!!
Once it's all over, you will get to look into your baby boy's eyes... and it will all be worth it :)
Best wishes over the next 5 weeks! Love you!
