Showering Austin

Better late then never right?! In the month of July I was lucky enough to have 2 baby showers for Austin. One in NJ on July 10th and one in MD on July 25th.

NJ-

Jeff, my mom, and I headed up to NJ on Friday and we stayed with Pat and Ron for the weekend. The shower was held at Aunt Barby's house in Freehold, NJ and it was wonderful. There were about 25 family and friends in attendance and my step mom and stepsister were even able to come since Lindsey lives in NYC now. Pat and Aunt Barby did an awesome job of coordinating all the paper plates and stuff with a jungle theme, coming up with games and gifts, and getting yummy food. We got a ton of great gifts and somehow the boys managed to fit everything in our car once they got back from the racetrack. We spent the rest of the afternoon just sitting around Aunt Barby's house chit chatting and eating the leftovers.

MD-

A few weeks later it was time for my MD shower. Morgan and The Ervick's came into town to help celebrate. The shower was held at my mom's house in Columbia and it was beautiful. My mom and sister went with a Goodnight Moon theme which turned out so cool. Kelly used her design skills to make the invites, advice papers, and favor tabs. My mom outdid herself in the kitchen making all the food and moon shaped cookie favors. I opened so many thoughtful and creative gifts and we played a few games in between. By the end my feet were quite swollen but it was so worth it. I love having all my lady friends in one room to celebrate. I actually got a little sad once it was over because I knew it was my last baby shower since you don't usually have showers for future children. Oh well I will just have to enjoy everyone else's showers ;)

Now that we are home I have been putting everything in its "place" or attempting to find a place for everything. Babies have so much stuff! It has actually been pretty fun and I can see a light at the end of the tunnel. Jeff is in charge of putting the big things together like the pack n play and swing and I handle the all the clothes. I should have pictures of the nursery by next week. We really love how it turned out.
