Just as I suspected...

I made a nice home for Austin and now he doesn't want to leave. Yesterday I hit 38 weeks and today Jeff and I went for my weekly check up. I have been feeling some braxton hicks contractions and pressure this past week so I was hoping I had made progress, but no. I am officially 0 cm dilated. Now for the good news. The little guys heart sounds perfect and he is happy as a clam. My cervix is softening and I was actually contracting on the table although I did not know it. So I guess my body is getting ready for the big day and I will need to be patient. I know I still have 13 more days until the big day, but I am just hoping to make some progress before then. 1 cm down is 1 less I have to do in the hospital. Also Dr. T said that Austin's head is resting on my bladder and that is why I have been peeing so much. It's like a little pillow for him haha. After my appointment today I went to GNC and picked up some primrose oil pills that the Dr suggested I take every night before bed. The pills are a source of prostaglandins that readies the cervix for labor. Who knows if it actually works, but I will give it a try. So in the mean time I will just kick my feet up and relax and wait for my boy. I have really been taking advantage of this time to myself and I quite enjoy it.
