Much to my dismay we have officially switched to the Britax convertible "Big Boy" car seat. It has been time for awhile, but I have been putting it off because it was so nice to have my portable baby in his infant seat. If he fell asleep in the car I would just bring him inside and let him sleep in his seat on his bedroom floor for hours. He was happy and so was I! The problem was that my back could not handle lugging a 21.5lb baby in a 5 lb car seat. Plus Austin was running out of room and he could no longer wear a coat or we would not be able to buckle him in. It was quite a sight. So we ordered the convertible seat and it's nice, but I still long for his infant seat. While I am sure Austin loves his new spacious ride, I am just hoping that one day we can transfer his sleeping self inside without him waking up. Until then I have resorted to having both car seats in the car, so when I know he will likely fall asleep I put him in the infant seat. Its snug, but he is still within the weight parameters. This is just a sign my baby is getting older. Oh change I hate you ;)3.22.2011

Let me know what you think of the Britax. Carly has the same infant seat as Austin but I too have doubts she is going to make it in there til she is 32 lbs. The straps are getting tighter and tighter. Good thing winter coats are behind us.
ReplyDeleteHe looks great in it:-)
ReplyDeleteKind of a pain that he has to stay rear facing for so long! His little legs are going to be smushed!!
