Dear Austin,
You are officially 6 months old! Everyone was right when they told mommy that time would fly by. You will never know how much you changed our lives in just 6 short months. You are the light of our life. I have spent most of my adult life wondering what my purpose was in life and what I wanted to do. Now I know my purpose is to make the best family for you. I get so excited to watch you grow and discover new things. You are so curious and social. Little social butterfly just like your daddy. I try to take you to do as many things as possible and let you explore new surroundings, because I know how much you like it. You are a big lover. You smile at everyone, even strangers, and people can't help but smile back. Fat and happy! You love to give hugs to adults and kids. Mommy and daddy are lucky enough to get most of your wet and slobbery kisses. I especially love them before bedtime. Time is going quickly, but I am trying to soak you up as much as possible. Thank you for teaching me about unconditional love Austin. Thank you for making me a mommy.
Love you to pieces,
Mama

Your 6 Month Birthday Dinner at Pieros

Here is what Austin is up to at 6 months:
- Sitting on his own
- Loves the jumperoo
- Enjoys the peekaboo game
- Loves clapping and "yay"
- Loves bath time and playing in the water
- Very ticklish
- Rolling from back to tummy.
- Baby push ups
- Loves being around adults and kids. No stranger anxiety at the moment.
- Transitioning to his big boy car seat and big boy stroller.
- Grabs your hand when you feed him solids. He loves food! So far he has tried butternut squash, sweet potatoes, peas, edamame, apples, bananas, pears, prunes, oatmeal, pasta noodle bits and bread. Puffs are still a work in progress.
- 4-5 6 oz bottles a day
- Most days 3 naps. 2 long and one short.
- Sleeping from 7am-7pm with one quick wake up at 4/5am for a bottle.
Things we are working on:
- Rolling to his back.
- Making his consonant sounds like da da and ba ba. He has his sown language and lots of squealing which I personally love.
- Cutting out the 4/5am feeding. This ought to be pleasant. Pray for us!
- Testing out a sippy cup in the next month or so. Of course you will still have your beloved bottle. Neither of us want to give that up any time soon ;)
6 Month Stats:
Weight 21 lbs 14 oz - 95th+ percentile, Height 28 1/4 inches - 95th percentile, Head 44 centimeters - 50th percentile
That brought tears to my eyes...and some old feelings back! Being a Mom is the best! He is a BIG boy...and growing so fast! What a little cutie pie!
ReplyDeleteI love the close up arms and leg rolls with his 6 month sticker!! And I loved experiencing his forceful hand while feeding him bananas the other morning:-)
