Our First Week and a Half

We have been home from the hospital for about 10 days now and every day it seems to get a little easier. The first few days home were a whirlwind. It was crazy to think that we were responsible for this little being and no nurses were around to help us out at 3am. Luckily my mom was here for a few days so we weren't totally flying solo. Breastfeeding did and still does pretty much consume most of my day. The first week was rough with cracking and bleeding, but it has since gotten better with the help of lanolin. That purple tube is never too far from my side. I wasn't sure how breastfeeding would go, but I actually have grown to like it. It's an awesome feeling to know that I have everything that my little guy needs and we have a special bonding time every few hours. Plus for selfish reasons I like to know that it will help me lose weight and shrink my uterus back to it's normal size. I have to admit that delivering a baby has made me less modest then I used to be and whipping out the boob (with my hooter hider) is not a huge deal. Don't worry I am not one of those people that will breastfeed at the table in a restaurant. There are limits ha. So besides feeding the rest of our day is spent just playing with Austin, going on walks outside, and attempting to get some rest. He is sleeping for about 2-3 hours at a time at night. It is not the easiest schedule, but I keep telling myself that it will get better. At the end of my pregnancy I was sleeping 9-10 hours a night so I was quite spoiled. Now I am excited if I get 6 hours a night. I am sure my body will adjust with time. Jeff went back to work on Monday after a week at home with us. We had the best time just hanging out and being lazy as a family of 3 (+ moxie). I am so lucky to have a hands on husband and dad. Needless to say going back to work was not the easiest transition, but somebody has to make the money right?! Austin and Jeff sent me flowers on Monday to make the day easier on mommy. Love getting flowers from my boys! This morning Austin had his newborn photoshoot with Meghan and I can't wait to see how the pictures turn out. She said it will be about 1-2 weeks until we get the proofs. I will be sure to post the link for everyone to see. Here are a few pictures of what we have been up to these past 12 days.
