Austin is 3

Birthday dinner

It was an awesome week long celebration of my first baby turning 3 years old.  The week started with a family cookout at our house a few days prior to his birthday.  The Housers and Gaga and Pa came over.  We played outside, ate yummy food and of course enjoyed yummy cupcakes. Since his actual birthday was during the week Austin went to the bounce house with our nanny Nanci, Landon, and his buddy Cole.  When I showed up to meet them he was a smiley sweaty mess.  He had so much fun running and bouncing.  After work Gaga came over for dinner and we all celebrated again.  Austin loves birthday cake and presents so he was over the moon. The night was filled with lots of presents, birthday calls, and Face Time from friends and family.

Austin loves babies.  He is always asking to hold them.

What Austin is up to at 3 years old:

• Preschool 3 mornings a week.  He loves to go. 
• Fairly outgoing, especially around people he knows.  More of a follower then a leader.
• Gives kisses and hugs to his family and friends. Very loving.  Occasional normal toddler tantrums.
• Talks a lot.  He has started to sing more.  Favorites are Old McDonald, Where is thumbkin, ABC's, and Wheels on the bus. 
• Loves to play with Landon.   Not very gentle with him, but Landon doesn't mind.  Overall a very good big brother and he looks out for Landon.
• Favorites toys are Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, cars, trains, diggers, Playdoh, puzzles, and his play kitchen.
• He loves to do anything outside.  Especially swinging on our playground and playing chase.
• Favorite TV shows are Calliou, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, and Berenstain Bears. Favorite movies are Madagascar, Toy Story, and Shrek.
• Favorite books are Calliou, Bernstein Bears, Giraffes Can't Dance, Ninja Turtles, Ten Little Ladybugs, and Hogwash.
• Austin is a really good eater and will eat pretty much anything.  Of course his favorites are mostly junk food, but he eats healthy for the most part.  Favorites:  Cupcakes, Oreos, Ice Cream, Mac and Cheese, Raw Vegetables, Any Fruit, Cereal, Ravioli, and Pancakes. Austin also loves helping me cook his meals.
• On our second attempt at potty training and it's going so well.  I guess he is ready now.  So proud of him.
• Austin loves to sleep like his mommy and daddy.  He takes a pretty long nap so he stays up a little later at night and sleeps in in the morning.  Nap: from 1:30-4.  Night: gets in bed at 8:15 (talks to himself for about an hour) and we wake him up at 7:30.  Recently transitioned to a big boy bed. 
• Stats: 37lbs (90-95%) 39.25 inches (90-95%).  Doctor said he is right on track.  My smart boy.

We feel so blessed that God chose Austin for us.  He has made us beyond happy since the day he was born.  Time does fly and I can't believe it's been 3 years since we first laid eyes on him.  I can honestly say we are enjoying the ride.   Happy Birthday Bubby!  We love you so much.
