Many of you who read this blog had the pleasure of meeting Jeff's first child Burton. Chances are he probably tried to lick you or maybe if you were lucky he snarfed all over you. That is the way Burton showed that he loved you, and he loved pretty much everyone. Jeff got Burton as a present in 2000 when he was attending Virginia Tech, so as you can imagine Burton has seen it all. Sometimes he would tell me secrets about Jeff's wild days in the frat house and we would just laugh. Once Jeff graduated from VT and got a full time job he knew that it wasn't fair for Burton to sit at home for 12 hours a day all by himself. Being the awesome dad that he was he sent his son to live with his grandparents where he would be spoiled. Burton spent many years in NJ and then in 2006 I got the pleasure of meeting the little guy when we went home for Thanksgiving. It was love at first sight. I had a talk with him about how I was allergic to him and he understood and never held it against me. I saw the bond that Jeff and him had and how much Burton loved Jeff. He would follow him all over the house and try to snuggle with him whenever he got a chance. The only time Burton was far from Jeff was when the mini bikes were out. Burton was not a rider like his daddy and barked and barked as he drove all over the front yard. This past Thanksgiving Burton met Austin for the first time and per the usual he loved on him by giving him lots of kisses. Burton will always be Austin's first dog. Unfortunately after Thanksgiving we found out that Burton had developed mouth and eye cancer and it quickly took a turn for the worst. Thankfully Burton made it through Christmas so that his dad could come home to see him one last time. Burton, I know you are having the time of your life in doggy heaven right now, but I just want to personally thank you for bringing so much love to our family. RIP Burton 12/14/2000-12/31/2010
