Jeff and I have always talked about the name Austin, but I wanted to make sure we at least opened the name book before we committed. Last night we read through the entire book and Austin was by far our favorite. We think it kind of sounds like a professional sports player's name haha. Who knows, but anyways we hope he likes it. The middle name Ragnvald is a Norwegian name. Jeff's grandfather was one of the first Ervick's to come over to America so it is important to carry on the tradition. Jeff's dad is named Ragnvald and it is also Jeff's middle name. It will be a tough one for a little kid to spell, so we are going to have to work on that. We hope you like the name as much as we do ;) Here is what the book had to say about the name Austin:
A hundred years ago, Austin (a form of Augustine) was a prim starch collared name. But it echoes Justin's youthful sound, and when you throw in the Western twang of the capital of Texas and the cheeky Brit style of Austin Powers, you get a name that is cooking on all burners!

Love it! Austin Ervick, Cole Shinaberry and Connor Geary all sound like baseball players to me:-) And your bump is awesome! It has popped a little more since I saw you a few days ago!!!

ReplyDeleteLove the name Kimmy! We loved the name Austin too and would have loved to use it... but my Aunt and Uncle beat us to it. Austin Allen came first, so we didnt want cousins with the same name! haha! It's a solid, strong name that isnt used very much. Great choice!
