The past few weeks I have been compiling pictures from our big trip to Disney World! So many memories to capture on this little blog. On Wednesday, October 22nd the 6 of us boarded a plane headed off to Orlando. This was the kid's first flight and they were so excited. I brought a bunch of activities and an iPad so they were very well behaved for the 2 hour flight. When we landed in Orlando the weather was 80 and perfect and it stayed that way for the next 5 days. We boarded the Magical Express bus that took us to our hotel, The Art of Animation. Our hotel was right on Disney property and was made up of different themes from Disney movies. We opted to stay in the Cars suites and the boys loved it. As you walked to your room it was just like you were in the movie. After unpacking we headed off to the Finding Nemo Pool and Splashpad to burn up some energy after traveling. Our little fish loved it!
Later that night we had our first character meal and the kids were excited to finally meet the real Mickey. We had dinner at Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary Resort and much to my surprise the kids loved every character! Austin can be weird about large costumed people so I had no idea what to expect at Disney, but he really surprised me and met each character with a hug or a high five. I think their favorite character that night was Donald Duck.
The next day after we headed into the parks and we started with Magic Kingdom. This was by far my favorite park because it's huge and there is so much to do for little kids. The kids had been waiting to see the castle for a few months and it did not disappoint. Everything was so magical and real to them and it was awesome to see. We spent the day taking in all of the sights and riding on a ton of rides such as Buzz Lightyear, The Speedway, Space Mountain, Dumbo, and of course eating lots of yummy food. After a quick nap we were back at it again with a backstage visit with Mickey and dinner with Cinderella at The Grand Floridan. The ferry ride to the hotel was beautiful and it was a great way to see more of the Disney property.
