One Month

My baby boy turned one month old on Sunday! It seems like he has been with us forever, but I don't mean that in a bad way. He is so much a part of our daily routine and we are starting to learn his likes and dislikes. Jeff and I have a pretty good schedule going during the evening and night hours. Right now Austin is going though the 'witching hour' phase which is common for newborns in the evening hours so it really takes a joint effort between Jeff and I. Jeff does all the diapers and I do all the feedings. Austin gets his bath around 7 and then we get him in his pajamas/swaddled before his bedtime feeding. I love how he smiles as he is falling asleep. The last few days he has been sleeping in his crib for the first part of the night then he comes in our room to sleep in his pack and play until about 7:00am. Austin usually gets up 2-3 times a night and we are pretty used to getting 6-7 hours of sleep a night. He has been great so far, but we look forward to him sleeping through the night eventually. Once Jeff leaves for work in the morning Austin and I cuddle in bed for about an hour and then it's time to play downstairs.

Austin is definitely most happy in the mornings. He is so curious and wants to look at everything in the room. Throughout the day Austin takes naps and sometimes we go out and run errands. Austin LOVES to be outside. I am training him to be my little shopping buddy. We honestly can not get enough of this little guy. As tired as I am I still always look forward to our time together. It's amazing to see him change everyday and learn new stuff. Speaking of changing, Austin is no longer in newborn clothes or diapers. This little guy is long! He is now wearing 0-3 months and some 3 month clothes. Now that the weather is getting cooler he can start wearing some of his cute fall gear.
