33 Weeks

Jeff came with me to my 33 week appointment and we got great news! Dr. T is almost positive that Austin has turned and is now head down. Yay! I know babies still move around at this stage of the game, but I am hoping that Austin likes his new position. Also Dr. T is predicting a 7.5 lb bambino which would be fine by me, because that means I may have a chance of pushing this little one out. As most of you know I was 10 lbs, so I have been a little concerned that he would be huge as well. Austin's heart rate was between 148-150 and my BP was 114/80 which is around normal for this stage of pregnancy. I only gained 2 lbs since the last visit which makes me happy, because for awhile I was packing on the weight between doctors appointments. I guess most of the weight gain is going to Austin these days. Here is a little bit of information on what Austin is doing on the inside:
  • He weighs about 4.4lbs and is approximately 19.4 inches

  • With the exception of crying, Austin is capable of doing everything that a newborn baby will do.

  • He sleeps most of the time. When he is awake, he is listening, feeling and learning.

  • Austin's eyes open during alert times and close during sleep. The eye color is usually blue, regardless of the permanent color as pigmentation is not fully developed. The final formation of eye pigmentation requires exposure to light and usually happens a few weeks after birth.

  • On a side note, my uterus has grown 500 times throughout my pregnancy!

Last weekend I had an awesome shower in NJ. I am so lucky to have great family and friends to help celebrate the little man's arrival. Since I will probably wear the same dress to my MD shower this weekend I am going to hold off on my shower post until next week. Hey a girl needs to get her monies worth out of these maternity dresses since I won't be able to wear them for much longer ;)
