After a summer of fun, it was time to go to school. Landon has been looking forward to going to school with Austin all summer. He may only be 2, but he wants to be big just like his older brother. Since they are both starting at a new school (St. Martin's in the Field Day School) we went to an orientation cookout last night. We got to meet the teachers and see their classroom before heading out to the playground for dinner and playing. It was a hot night and the boys were not on their best behavior, but we made it through in hopes that a good night of sleep would make for a fun first day of school. Well the good news is it worked! They both woke up excited to go to school. There were no tears from the boys or my hormonal self which is always a plus. They have some really cool stuff planned this year like spanish class, gym class, show and tell, cooking, and chapel. Landon will be one of the younger kids in his class, but I think he will do great since he is used to hanging out with older kids. Austin will be one of the older kids in his class and I think he is really ready this year. His September birthday worked out well for his shy personality. When I picked the boys up from school they both seemed very happy and after a little prying I was able to get some good stuff out of them. The highlight was finding each other on the playground at recess which makes my heart so happy. These two have come a long way this past summer and they truly are best buddies (with a little brotherly fighting in between).
