5 years ago my sweet Austin made me a mommy. I remember every detail of that day like it was yesterday. Austin has taught me so much more in 5 years then I could have ever imagined. He is our test kid. I guess that is what happens when you are the first kid, we test everything out on him to see if it will work. We learn as we go as parents and most days he makes me feel like maybe we are doing something right. He is a sensitive, shy, playful and kind boy who loves his family and friends. Of course he is a normal kid and isn't perfect all the time, he has his outbursts, but he knows right from wrong and tries to be a good kid. We can't ask for more than that! Austin has really embraced his role as a big brother this year. He started inviting Landon to play with him and his toys, teaches him things, and just likes being with him. It's been cool to see their relationship evolve now that Landon is getting older. Austin also learned this year that he will be a big brother again and he has so excited from day one. It makes me beyond excited to see how he will act with his sister once she is here. More then anything I just want my kids to be happy and feel loved and I think we have achieved that with Austin.
Here are a few of Austin's favorite things:
- Toys: Star Wars, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Legos, Paw Patrol figures
- TV/Movies: Star Wars Lego movies, Toy Story, Minions, Paw Patrol, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
- He loves to run around and play outside with the neighbors. Most of the time you will find him with a cape, darth vader mask, and some type of weapon like a light saber or sword. The kids ride their power wheels truck all the time and are learning to ride a bike with training wheels.
- Food: Pizza, donuts (especially the icing), apples, pancakes, carrots, pb&j, and cereal. He is a pretty good eater.
- Sports: He is in his second year of Green Hornets soccer. Starting to learn how to play tee ball. Loves to swim under water and is starting to learn freestyle. He can swim from the diving board to the edge of the pool.
Stats:
Height: 44 3/4 inches (90%)
Weight: 45 lbs (75%)

Austin spent his actual birthday celebrating at school with chocolate donuts and got to wear a crown that he was very proud of. After school Austin and I headed to the pool for his friends birthday party. I loved that one on one time with him. That night his cousins and grandparents came over to have pizza, cake and presents. Austin had been counting down to his birthday for a long time and he couldn't have been more excited! He got a new bike with training wheels and the Millennium Falcon lego set!
