Landon Wesley Turns 2

Landon officially turned 2 on Sunday September 21, but he has seemed 2 to me for awhile.  I guess they just age more quickly when they have an older sibling to follow.  He is growing at the speed of light, further and further away from being a baby.  Its exciting to watch, but a little bit bittersweet since he may be my last baby.  The difference from 1 year old to 2 years old is always so big and fun to watch.  You can really start to see a child's personality and boy does Landon have one.  To be honest he is just a cool guy and even if he wasn't my kid, I would want to be friends with him.  He is very loving, outgoing, helpful, opinionated, and just fun.  He will walk up to any stranger and say hi and loves to give big bear hugs to people that he loves just for no reason.  He hangs with the bigger kids in the neighborhood like he is one of them, even though he is several years younger.  Austin is his world and when he isn't around Landon is constantly asking, "Where Austin going?".  Speaking of talking he has a ton to say!  The boy doesn't stop talking and his voice is so cute.  Apparently when I was younger I used to get in trouble from the teachers for talking too much so he may get that from his mama.  We spent Landon's birthday celebrating Landon style, laid back with dinner and dessert with friends and family at our neighborhood beach.  We opened presents, grilled out, ate cupcakes, played in the water, and dug in the sand (with Landon's prized orange shovel of course).  It was the perfect way to celebrate on of the great loves in my life.

Here is what he is up to lately:
  • His favorite toys are cars/trucks, shovels, legos, trains.  He loves to be outside digging, running, riding his power wheels, swimming, or helping Jeff to fix a car or minibike (Go Go).
  • His favorite foods are mac and cheese, bananas with peanut butter, cake, ice cream, "special" juice, yogurt, and applesauce squeezies.
  • His favorites books are anything that has to do with trucks, Love You Through and Through, and Pete the Cat. His favorite TV shows are Calliou and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, and his favorite movie is Toy Story.  He also loves to play games on the iPad. His favorite is Grandpa's Tools.
  • He is a smartie pants. He amazes us with his knowledge and how quickly he picks up on stuff.  Having a big brother helps I am sure.  He can count to 10.  Knows most of the ABC song. Recognizes about 5-8 letters like M and will say M Mama.  He knows all of his colors. And lastly he speaks like most three year olds!
  • He goes to bed around 7:45/8 and wakes up around 7/7:15.  He takes a 2.5 hour nap.  He is still in his crib, but he is trying to escape.  Mommy is not ready to go through that stage again.  It was a doozie with Austin.
  • My boy is big.  34.2 lbs (95+%) 36 inches (90%) and head (90%).  2T/3T shirts, 2T pants, size 8.5 shoe. Just started getting his two year old molars.
Landon isn't really into opening presents so big brother helped.
Playing with the new loot.
Reese, Jax, Bryce, Austin, and Landon
