First of all 9 months is getting scary close to 1 year and I am just not ready for that yet. Can it really be true that I gave birth 9 months ago? I guess this means two things...1. I can't say I just had a baby anymore and 2. my baby boy will soon be a toddler! I am going to soak up these last 3 months of Austin officially being a BABY. I honestly don't think I could love this kid any more but every month I seem to surprise myself. He is getting such a little personality. He legitimately has conversations with me (in his own language). I often wonder what he is saying in that little head of his. Still no real words yet. I guess that phrase "early walker, late talker" may be true. Our pediatrician said that we should hear him imitate our sounds over the next few months. He is crawling quite quickly these days and pulling up and cruising around. He will pull himself up on my legs and put his head between my knees when he wants me to pick him up. He is a social butterfly and loves to crawl after other children. No stranger anxiety yet. I am still trying to get him out around other kids as much as possible because he loves it so much. He is a champion eater which is why he is my chunky monkey. He has been eating a mixture of purees and baby food, but at his 9 month appt the doctor gave me the okay to feed him all soft finger foods (except the allergy prone foods). We call Austin our little pigeon because he always wants a piece of what we are eating. If he sees us with food he will stare at you with the cutest look on his face until you break him off a piece. I have not given him any sweets yet because I fear that he will like them too much like his mommy and never eat his veggies. I was a picky eater growing up and I only wanted sprinkle donuts and twinkies ha! So far Austin still has 4 teeth and the top 2 teeth are almost totally in. I see 2 more teeth on the top that are about to pop through so I imagine that will happen in the next few weeks. Austin is a on a 2 nap schedule (8:30 and 1) and he loves it. So far he is like clockwork and he knows when it's time. He will sometimes put up a fight when I put him in the crib, but eventually he falls asleep. I think he just likes to have his climbing time in the crib before he sleeps. I know I should be grateful I have a great sleeper, but little man is an early riser! He goes to bed at 7 and wakes up between 5:45 and 6:15 ready to go! I remember that I used to be an early riser as well so I guess he takes after his mom. Jeff is a sleeper. Hey I guess he got one thing from me!

We are officially moved out of our house now so we are nomads. We will be staying at 4 different places during the next month so I just pray that my little guy will be flexible. We will try to keep to his schedule as much as possible. Being flexible is a good trait so maybe this will turn out to be a good thing after all. We shall see. In the meantime I will enjoy my 9 month old BABY and all of our adventures.
Stats:
Weight 24lbs 10oz 95 percentile
Height 30 inches 95 percentile
Head 75-90 percentile
3 meals, 4 bottles (4-6 oz), and loves his paci for sleeping
18-24 month clothes
Size 3 or 4 shoes
Isn't this age so much fun? Seems like Austin and Carly are in to just about all the same things. they even have the exact same sleep schedule. 5:45 wake up calls are killing me but I guess we should just be lucky they are sleeping through the night!
ReplyDeleteCarly is LOVING eating table food and we've been getting some good ideas along the way so let me know if you need some easy meal ideas. Good luck with the move!
Love that smiley face! Happy 9 months Austin!
