My little love bug turned 5 months on Thursday. Last night I was laying in bed thinking about how fast time is flying. Can my little baby already be 5 months? He is the light of my life, my joy, and makes everything right in the world. In just 5 short months I have turned into a better person, wife, friend, and mom...all because of him. His smiles most of the time now and it's contagious. I find myself not caring about things that I used to fret over such as making sure my hair and makeup were perfect or making sure the house looks perfect. Maybe the toys, and jumperoo, and play mat add character to the house? Don't get me wrong I am not a slob now, but a little organized chaos is cool with me ;)
Austin has so many new tricks these days. Everyday he has more sounds and he loves to talk to the animals on the play mat. The purple elephant is still his favorite. He loves toys that light up and play music. The jumperoo has quickly become a favorite and he can jump around for quite awhile. Everything goes in his mouth and he is constantly drooling. He is fascinated by cell phones so you can't hold it within his arms reach or it will soon be in his mouth. We still take our daily outings to the stores or restaurants or to visit friends and he loves to people watch. I think the socialization is good for him since he is with me most of the day. I look forward to the warm weather so we can go on walks to the park or swim at the neighborhood pool. Bedtime is one of the best times of the day because it involves taking a bath. He loves daddy and Austin time. Jeff reads him Barnyard Bath in the tub and they play with all his bath toys. I pop in and watch sometimes as I am getting everything ready for bedtime. After bath time I feed him his bottle and we rock. He has started giving kisses (putting both hands on my neck and gnawing on my face). I start cracking up and then so does he. Things that used to be so hard are now getting easier or maybe I am just getting more comfortable. I am sure there will be many more bumps along the road, but I will enjoy this for now.
