After waking up this morning at 5:50am to see score of the NC State vs Clemson game I started doing a dance for Jeff and singing "give me my money, give me money". Of course he thought I was crazy haha! Last night we bet on the game and I chose NCSU and he chose Clemson. Sweet victory!! The fact the NCSU won their first game and UNC lost their first game totally makes my Friday. I was reading one of my favorite blogs this morning and Melissa's feelings totally sum up what it is like to be an NC State Alumni. I only hope my son or daughter is lucky enough to have the same college experience that I had.
Sarah and I in our dorm on the first day of school before going to class.

I grew up on NC State football. (You haven’t been to a tailgate until you come to an NC State tailgate) I learned how to make the #1 sign on my fingers as a little girl for my beloved Wolfpack. (SEE THAT SHIRT I’m WEARING?)
In elementary school our cafeteria would hold a contest on who had the most fans by selling sugar cookies light blue (Carolina), dark blue (Duke) and red (NC State) sprinkles. I bought the red cookie every single year.
In sixth grade, the first song I learned to play on my trombone was the NC State fight song.
My godfather went to NC State. My uncle went to NC State. and I’ll be damned if I was going anywhere else but NC State.
I met some of my very best friends at NCSU. I met my husband at NCSU. When my daughter was born, she wore a pair of red NC State socks.
I love the HELL OUT of that school. I walked out of there with so much more than a degree… I left with experiencing that shaped me as a person and some of the best friends you could ever imagine. In Latin, “Alma Mater” means nourishing mother - and that’s exactly what NC State has been to me - filling my head full of knowledge and my life full of amazing memories. I don’t care if we’ve got the best sports teams or we come in dead last year after year… I’ll be a devoted wolfpacker till the day I die.
GO PACK!
