Last week was restaurant week here in the DC area and so I decided to take full advantage. I know they do restaurant week all over the country, but here in DC it is a pretty big deal because there are so many yummy restaurants. For $35 you can get a full meal at a great place that would normally cost you double that. So my tour started off at one of my old favorites, Melting Pot. Who can pass up starting dinner off with cheese fondue and finishing with a pot full of chocolate and rice krispie treats! Next we were off to Bobby Vans Grill. This was a new place for me, but I have heard about the great steaks for years. The location was easy to get to and the food was awesome. The last restaurant on the tour was Passionfish. Jeff and I have been there before and it's awesome, plus it doesn't hurt that it's about 5 minutes from our house. It is owned by the same people that own Ceiba and Acadiana which are already DC favorites. We decided to invite our family down to have dinner with us and I think everyone agreed that the seafood was great. If you ever go I highly recommend the Lobster Clay Pot. It was actually named one of the Washingtonian Best Dishes of 2009. Well now that I am thoroughly stuffed from a week full of eating out, I am off to Baltimore for a few days of work conferences. Atleast I can dream of the chocolate fondue as I sit in the cold conference room ;)
