Anyone who has been to Northern Virginia knows that this is the place where about 60% of Virginia Tech Alums come after graduation. When I started dating Jeff I quickly learned about his small "obsession" with VT, and so over time I have made a place for VT in my heart as well. NC State will always be number one to me (even though we stink this year) but I am always up for a big tailgate party in a small college town. This past weekend a bunch of us headed down to
Blacksburg for the VT vs BC game and we had a blast! We all arrived on
Friday night and sipped on rails at TOTS (Top of the Stairs) and listened to the alum reminisce of their younger college days. In case you haven't had a
signature TOTS rail before, they consist of 8 different shots and some type of fruity mixture. I know it sounds nasty, but unfortunately they taste amazing and they get me every time.

The next morning we were up bright and early to start tailgating for the noon game. The guys did a great job of setting up the tents and getting drinks, food, and games. Jeff recently made a
corn hole set (one VT and one
NCSU) so he was excited to put his hard work use. Our seats for the game were perfect and I even tried one of the famous smoked turkey legs. It was messy, but pretty darn good. The game was a blowout and BC probably didn't know what hit them.
Unfortunately the same was not true for the
NCSU game this weekend and we lost to Duke.
GRRRR.

Anyways, after the game we continued the tailgate and headed to
BW3's for wings and more football. Before we headed home on Sunday Jeff and Joel gave me a tour of campus and we visited the VT memorial site. I still can't believe that someone could commit such a horrible and
senseless crime on innocent staff and students. By about 1:00 we were tired and ready to head back home to NOVA. Jeff and Joel were already planning the next tailgate the whole way home. Can't wait ;)
