Week 27, 91 days to go, and the first day of the third trimester. Wow I feel very blessed to make it this far! I know I keep saying this, but time is really going by quickly. The third trimester seems so final and scary and exciting all at the same time. In 3 short months the little man will be here to meet his new family. Jeff and I started getting his room ready this weekend by cleaning out my office stuff and moving my desk into the guest room. It was just another milestone that made everything seem very real. Next weekend we are going to start painting and hanging curtains. I know we have plenty of time until the furniture comes, but we are pretty busy in July so it will be nice to have everything ready for when the furniture does come in August.
When I signed into The Bump.com this morning I was automatically moved to the third trimester message board. As I was musing around I realized I have a lot to learn so I guess I better get back to my reading. I started reading The Baby Whisperer, but of course I got sidetracked. I am sure I don't need to read these books and a lot of it will come naturally, but I want to go into this feeling as confident as possible. So far the book has been great at telling me how to keep Austin and myself on a schedule with the EASY method (Eat Activity Sleep You). It has also has great ideas on how to calm and soothe the baby. In addition to Baby Whisperer, I also bought Happiest Baby on the Block, so that is next on the reading list. One great thing about The Bump is that they give you a checklist of things to do for each week. Some of the stuff is stupid, but they do actually have some good ideas. Next up on my checklist is to start interviewing pediatricians and prepare a birth plan. A BIRTH PLAN ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?! For some reason in my head I still think that 3 months is so far away, but I guess it's time to step up to the plate. I plan to keep my "plan" pretty simple and just go with the flow.
Ok well I guess I better finish getting ready for work. Until next time....tootaloo!
